EMBRACE Women’s Ministry

What is Embrace?
Embrace is a ministry for women of all ages. This ministry consists of Bible Studys, retreats, and mission activities. There is a monthly women’s Bible Study, on the first Monday of each month. Embrace is a ministry of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina that seeks to encourage women to walk humbly with Christ in their world and build strong families capable of creating a legacy of faithfulness.

Embrace is a comprehensive, Bible based women’s ministry of the BSCNC that seeks to equip women to pray for and minister to women of all ages, their families and future generations for the building up of Christ’s Kingdom. Embrace intends to engage women with the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Evangelism); educate women to prayerfully study and apply God’s Word in their lives (Discipleship); and equip women to do Kingdom work through service locally and globally (Missions).

“A woman who fears the Lord will be praised…” Proverbs 31:30

Vision
Embrace God’s call to pray for and minister to women, their families and future generations for the building up of Christ’s Kingdom.

Mission
Embrace responds to God’s call and design for women to live in intimacy with Christ as they serve Him through the local church to prayerfully care for and develop evangelism, discipleship, and missions in women leaving a legacy for future generations.

Embrace Women’s Missions and Ministries finds its biblical foundations in Titus 2:3-5. As Titus was told to have the older women teach and train the younger women, still today it is necessary for the older women to invest in the lives of younger women. The curriculum outlined in the Titus 2 passage focuses on a woman’s behavior, attitudes, speech, and thought. Embrace Women’s Missions and Ministries not only desire for women to grow and reflect the Lord Jesus, but also provides a model of ministry that takes heed of the Lord’s commands as found in the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20. Evangelism, discipleship, and missions involvement are key elements of the ministry. As women are shaped and molded into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ, they should be about the tasks of reaching a lost world with the Gospel of Jesus and teaching and training in His truths.

Our intents are…
1. Evangelism – Engaging Women with the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Proverbs 31:20, Matthew 28:19)
2. Discipleship – Educating Women to prayerfully study and apply God’s Word in their lives. (Psalm 19:7, Titus     2:3-4)
3. Missions – Equipping women to do kingdom work through service locally and globally. (Acts 1:8, Psalm 2:8)

A Christian woman’s lifestyle should naturally encompass each of these three intents. One cannot be separated from the other, but evangelism, discipleship and missions involvement should occur as a woman is going. Prayer is foundational and fundamental to who a woman in Christ is and what she does for His Kingdom. The Embrace Ministry model encourages women’s ministry leaders in churches to design and plan all women’s ministry events with the three intents of evangelism, discipleship and missions involvement at the forefront of each activity.
